Today was a day we planned to go shopping with the ladies from school. It turned out to be one of the worst rainy days ever. There were floods in many of the area creeks have flooded over and caused delays on many roads. It didn't stop us from spending!

If you see this on the road somewhere, ITS ME! That's where the RMOM came from that I use as an online identity. I've got 153.000 miles on this car and I drove it out the dealer with 1 on the odometer. Would love to get to 200,000.

Winter ice/snow damage on my evergreen tree. I really did not notice until this week because it is on the far side of our home. I guess I will get my son to cut it down when he gets home for spring break.

After 5 matches without a win, the Blast mark their firsts victory! They kept improving each match and ended up for a playoff for 5th place. Great job and a lot of confidence was gained during this match! Even though they lost the last game of the day, the girls were happy with their progress.

This is a litter of Labradoodles. My friend Kim E has been breeding them for about a year and this is the first litter I have seen. Boy are they cute, no barking, and just want to be cuddled. But it is out of my budget at $1800 a piece!! Can you imagine? Years ago we would have called these dogs "Mutts".

Students must practice knot tying, and safety procedures before going on the rock wall. You can see different degrees of preparation in the background.

I pass this display everyday by our front office and the small sculptures are amazing for middle school students. This is a 6th grade art project.

Getting ready to climb the wall in the background takes a lot of practice and training. This class is climbing other ropes and ladders on bolay so everyone gets involved. Next activity for them will be to get on the wall.

Last weekend was the BEST weather so far of 2010! This photo is from our youth group retreat. The game they are playing is called GaGa or Israeli Dodgeball. There is an 8-sided playing court on a cement floor. The side walls are about 4'high and constructed of decking wood. The ball is about 1/3 the size of a soccer ball. You can hit the ball with one hand to try and hit other players below the knee to get them out. NO kicking. It goes pretty fast and about 20 kids start the game in the court. The kids played this until midnight Friday and Saturday night. There were a few bruised fingers from scraping on the cement floor.

This chain is an Acts of Kindness - Pay it Forward and Don't Break the Chain. Each person in the school wrote a promise to complete the act of kindness they wrote on the paper. This is to remind us that kindness works.

Have you ever noticed that the number pad on a computer is upside down from a telephone? Don't you think we should have a standard operating procedure here?

After visiting the home show in Wilmington, I saw a sign pointing to the nature area. I never noticed this before, so I followed the road. There is a beautiful new nature viewing area with a boardwalk among the marshy area and a very high walking bridge to an education center. This is a section of the city that is being restored and I am glad to see they are including places for natural environments. This owl sculpture is at the entrance.

This is our team in the semi finals. There is a lot of action in this photo. The orange team watching, is waiting to play the winner of our game for the finals. We beat them one game already today, so that would be a great match. However it was NOT to be. We lost this match two straight games. This was our first tournament since many of the others were snowed out! Love this indoor season.

There are little cottage businesses all around this area, but this is a combination you don't usually see! Last summer they had a huge display of their container gardens at the end of this driveway and they were beautiful.

My students are working on presentations for a literacy project. Andrew demonstrates how we used the green screen to take their photo, then put them in the scene. He is going to put himself on a horse. The green screen? A cheap $3.95 shower curtain from IKEA as recommended by Patti Duncan. This is such a hilarious activity because one kids see with others are doing, they really get in to it and get quite creative.

I know there is a real science to the design of tire treads, but I have no idea what it is. LOL Why would I? I had to take mine back for a repair. After only one month I had a slow leak and found a nail head in the tread.

Out to dinner at Hibachi with my close friends who both have birthdays in February. It was really nice to connect again. We did a lot together in the summers when all of our children were smaller. This was quite a pile of shrimp and scallops! All in all it was a fun dinner.
