At the Rally to Restore the Sanity by Colbert and Stewart. The streets are closed and people are everywhere! This is still one block over from the Mall. There is a big debate on how many people showed up. It doesn't matter I couldn't walk forward because it was too crowded. This street looks mild compared to the Mall area. We could hear them speaking, but could not even get close enough to see the stage. The signs and costumes were very entertaining.

The office ladies at our school dressed for Halloween today. In addition to their spirit here, they have a spread of food to share with everyone! I would watch out for the green bubbling drinks!

Rainy days produce some great photos of water on plants. I had to take about 10 to get one I liked.

Another of nature's gradients. I love the red to green transition with a spot of yellow on the side.

This is quite the caterpillar next in my apple tree. Maybe it was gypsy moths, but I am not sure. I almost looks ghost-like with and eye and open mouth...creepy.

How nice to put out water for the Amish horses! Sorry it is so fuzzy, I had to take it through the windshield of the car. I love all of the hand painted signs by the farms. More to come!

A few years ago I went on a walking tour of this town, Strasburg, PA. It was a Halloween Screem Ghost Tour. They showed us several places that have had unusual occrrences of activity that could not be explained. This building is still a great restaurant and tavern with a General that lives on the third floor. He has been heard walking around and sitting at a table. An old friend Denise owns this place and she has experiences some of these events, but not enough to scare her or the employees away. I guess it is like Casper, a friendly ghost. They server great food too.

This Amish farm is so typical of the beautiful countryside around Chester and Lancaster County. You can see by this photo that the ground is quite dry and brown. Soon those trees will be turning color with the arrival of Autumn. Notice - no electric poles! or cars on the farm in the foreground.

This is parent visitation day at our school and we get over 300 people! Parents shadow their child from class to class observing what is being taught in school. It is a great day for public relations, but very stressful for many teachers. I say, bring it on!

My neighbor has some great decorations for Halloween. They have survived many mischief nights and crazy trick or treaters. I love to see them late at night when I am walking the dog for the evening. This one is about 8 feet tall.

It seems like every farm around here is selling pumpkins this year! There are over 6 corn mazes withing a 30 minute drive of my home too! I am not sure how good this one is, but they are known for pumpkins and their Christmas tree farm down the road.

I was in a rush, needed to take a recipe, and out of ink! So I just took a picture of the recipe on the screen! After all of that, I forgot the red wine vinegar anyway! Go figure. This is a great salsa type chunky dip for a party or tailgate. Enjoy

This garden is in transition from flowers drying up on the right side, to the newly grown Swiss chard. Looks like it is harvest time for the chard.

This little critter may be looking for a place to make a bed. Not sure this picnic bench is a good idea. It is too public and some bird will surely find him.
